The
henna hair kits found in stores, yes even health food stores, are not
pure. They contain chemicals or metallic
salts. Unfortunately, those tainted kits
are the only ones that hairdressers are educated on. Pure plant dyes (henna, cassia, indigo,
etc..) can be used on treated hair. But
a test is always recommended, some regions have high mineral content in the
water which can react with Cassia.
